1 Minute in Hamilton County: Nicole Bryan Salon
Dreaming of hair like you saw on the red carpet?
During award season, Travis Webb, a co-owner of Nicole Bryan Salon, gets all kinds of requests from clients who want to look like the movie stars. Lately, lots of clients are going for more natural looks and waves and also ombre or balayage (I learned those are coloring techniques). As Travis told me, though, people shouldn’t try to fit into someone else’s hair style. The best hair style is one that makes you feel good about yourself.
Travis and his team at Nicole Bryan in Carmel keep up on all the latest hair designs through training sessions that take them all over the country.
I sat down with him recently to find out how he got started as a stylist and now salon owner. Surprisingly, his interest in hair began on a farm. He showed cattle in 4-H and loved the art of grooming the animals for show and decided then he wanted to go to cosmetology school.
By the time he was 30, he and stylist Brooke Gingerich opened Nicole Bryan. They combined their middle names to come up with the name of the salon. Earlier this year, Nicole Bryan was named one of the top 200 salons in the country. This month, Nicole Bryan is celebrating its seventh anniversary.
